In video games, it is a group of characters working together. In single player mode, the entire team may be under the control of the player (e.g. in team tactical games or some RPGs) or only one of its members (the actions of the others are controlled by computer Artificial Intelligence). In a multiplayer game, as a rule, individual players take care of one hero.

The team formation option is one of the key elements of most online games. This enables, among others using the perks related to each character class (e.g. fighting in the front row, attacking from a distance, healing or enhancing the abilities of companions) and is often rewarded with a bonus to experience gained and treasures found.

In multiplayer skirmishes, separate match modes are usually reserved for team competition, such as team deathmatch, assault, domination or capture the flag.
