An abbreviation of Pan European Game Information. PEGI is a pan-European age rating system for computer games developed by the European Interactive Software Federation (ISFE). Over 30 countries are using PEGI system.

The PEGI markings is helping customers to make informed purchasing decisions. Games are evaluated by a team of experts for content such as violence, foul language, fear, sex, drugs and gambling. Appropriate information (in the form of iconography) along with the assigned age classification (3, 7, 12, 16 or 21 years old) will be on the game cover.

Video game publishers and distributors supports PEGI system. The equivalent of PEGI on the US market is the ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) age ratings.
