Android is an operating system from Google, designed for mobile devices: smartphones, mobile phones, tablets and netbooks. Its operation relies on the Linux kernel which provides: multitasking, multithreading, virtual memory and relatively easy memory management. You can install dedicated games, navigation and many other applications on Android devices. Additionally, this operating system is available in different versions, including such as: Android Auto, Android Studio, Android Oreo (8.0-8.1), Android TV and Android Pay.
Android has a large community of developers writing applications that extend the functionality of devices. In August 2014, over 1.3 million applications were available for this system on Google Play (formerly Android Market).
According to StatCounter data from April 2017, Android had the largest share in the operating system market.
