Brawl Stars Mechanics
The game is intended only for multiplayer games. There are over a dozen heroes to choose from, each of which has different weapons, statistics and a special ability. Some of them use a variety of firearms, others throw grenades, and still others prefer, for example, bombs left on the ground.
Released on AND and iOS, Brawl Stars offers an arcade gameplay model. We observe the action from a camera placed high above our character’s head. Two control systems are available. One was based on a virtual pad. The second one is a bit more complicated – touching the screen, we indicate the place where our character should go. To aim, it is necessary to draw a line from the character to the target, and the shot is fired as soon as we stop touching the display. Activating a special ability requires charging the appropriate energy bar, which we fill by killing enemies.
In addition, there is a development system that allows us to improve the combat potential of the characters. All elements related to the heroes are modeled on the MOBA genre, but the gameplay itself was taken from online shooters. This does not only apply to the arcade nature of the fights, but also to the game modes themselves.
Brawl Stars Game modes
The game offers four variants of multiplayer competition. In Smash & Grab, two teams of three fight each other, capturing the crystals that appear in the center of the map. Killing a character causes it to drop whatever it has accumulated. The group that has fifteen crystals first will be the winner.
In Heist mode, two teams of three compete again. One of them takes turns defending the safe and the other tries to rob it. The third variant is Battle Royale, where ten players are thrown on the map and the fun continues until only one is left alive. The last mode is Bounty. In it, we collect stars for killing enemies and lose them when our character dies. The team with the most stars wins the match as soon as the clock strikes zero.
